Dr. Samaahath is a pediatric neurologist with over seven years of experience in pediatric medicine and three years of specialized focus in pediatric neurology. Based in the Maldives, she is dedicated to providing expert care to children with neurological disorders while contributing to the academic community as a lecturer in the Department of Child Health at IGMH/Maldives National University.
As a passionate educator, Dr. Samaahath plays a vital role in training MBBS students, inspiring them to excel in pediatric care and equipping them with the knowledge to shape the future of healthcare. Her combined commitment to clinical practice and education underscores her devotion to improving pediatric medicine.
Dr. Samaahath’s journey in healthcare began as a general pediatrician at the Maldives’ primary public tertiary hospital. Her growing interest in pediatric neurology led her to pursue advanced fellowship training in the field at the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine (PGIM) in Sri Lanka. Since completing her fellowship, she has made significant contributions to pediatric neurology services in the Maldives, ensuring better treatment and care for children facing neurological challenges.
Her academic credentials include an MBBS degree from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and an MD in Pediatrics from the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Nepal. She further specialized in pediatric neurology through her fellowship at PGIM, Sri Lanka, which provided her with in-depth expertise in addressing complex pediatric neurological conditions.
